Frequently Asked Questions

“Is this a recording/audio/music studio?”

Yes, this is Cloverleaf Audio-Visual. We have two full-service recording studios in the Twin Cities, one in Saint Paul and another in Hopkins, just South of Minneapolis. Some of our services include audio recording, editing, mixing, and mastering as well as digital video production.

“What are your rates?”

It depends! You and your project are unique. So we don't take a cookie-cutter approach to price. We want to understand your creative vision so we can custom-tailor a plan that meets your expectations and your budget. For more information, schedule a free consultation or send us a message with your project details. After we get to know your goals, we'll send you a proposal that covers timeline, workflow, pricing, and everything in between.

“What kind of music do you work with?”

We work with just about every genre of music! We’ve helped artists to create hip-hop, R&B, rock, pop, alternative, electronic, funk, ska, reggaeton, jazz, classical, punk, metal, and even music for film.

“What does it cost to make a song?”

No two songs are alike, so the total price per song depends your vision and the technical production requirements. For example, if you have lyrics and chords prepared, and you want to create a radio-ready pop song, that can take anywhere between a couple of days and a couple of weeks to fully-produce. That’s because we’ll need to spend time arranging, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. However, if you already have an instrumental ready to go and you just need to record vocals, that will be much cheaper since we only need to record a vocalist. If you can provide us with some more information, we can give you a better idea of what your project might cost. Our suggestion is to start with a free consultation, and we can help you determine out the best course of action for your production.

“Do you make (or have any) beats?”

Yes, our producers can make custom instrumentals for you based on your personal musical influences and your project vision.

“What are your business hours?”

For Saint Paul Location (Cloverleaf Audio-Visual): Our studio is open from 10:00 AM to Midnight Monday through Saturday.

For Minneapolis Location (Cloverleaf @ Taylor Sound): Our studio is open for sessions with our engineers from 10:00 AM to Midnight seven day a week. For all other services, including rehearsal, video studio rental, and DIY Production Memberships, the studio is open 24/7.

“Do you accept walk-ins?”

We don’t accept walk-ins because we can only serve one customer at a time and sessions range from two to ten hours. All of our services require an appointment. To ensure that you have the best experience, we recommend scheduling a session a couple days in advance. That gives both you and our team adequate time to prepare.

“Do you accept same day appointments?”

We don’t currently offer same-day bookings because we’re usually booked about a week out. You may view our studio calendar to see what's available and pick a time that works for you and our team.

“What is your cancellation policy?”

Life is crazy sometimes - we get it. We're happy to reschedule or cancel sessions if your plans change. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, we ask that you please give us 24 hours advance notice to ensure you will not be charged for the appointment. If less than 24 hours notice is given or you don't show up for your scheduled appointment, your on-file card may be charged up to 50% of the appointment cost for Studio Sessions, Studio Rentals, or Lessons. For Studio Tours and Project Consultations there's a flat $15.00 no-show fee.

“Do you manage artists or offer music management services?”

We do not offer management or promotional services. However, we do offer creative media production services. We can create the audio and video content that a management company will need to promote you as an artist or musician.

“I’ve never been to a professional studio or recorded before. Is that okay?”

We love working with individuals or groups who have never done any kind of work in a professional studio environment. It’s an honor for us to provide somebody’s first studio experience. We want you to be successful in your creative pursuits whether you’re brand new to recording or you’re a seasoned veteran! So we always take the time to show you the ropes, help you learn about the production process, and answer any questions you have along the way.

“My lyrics contain explicit content. Is that okay?”

Whether you sing heavenly praises or you curse like a sailor, we’re happy to work with you and your music no matter how you choose to express yourself. Keep in mind, even though we support your right to express yourself however you artistically choose, it’s always a good idea to have a “clean” version of your song too. Clean mixes make it easier to get your music into as many ears as possible. We can create alternate versions of your song when the mix is complete. Just ask your engineer.
